So much of H1N1 preparation news has focused on how hospitals will cope with the pandemic that it was nice to see one organization, the American Hospital Association (AHA), sympathize with the challenges facing physician practices and urge the CDC to change its current guidance for ambulatory settings by recommending the limited use of N95 respirators.
If the AHA is worried about medical offices staying up and running during the pandemic, a logical extension of its advocacy might be to help physician practices protect staff members with N95 fit testing if the CDC does not change its current guidance.
