In an effort to bring HAI prevention efforts to the forefront of healthcare in the United States, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has arranged four meetings on reducing HAIs.
Although two of the meetings were in July, those interested in attending the discussions can still register for August 27 in Seattle, and September 22 in Chicago.
According to the posted agenda, discussions will include the role of the patient, healthcare workers, and healthcare providers in reducing HAIs, how to ensure accountability at the federal, state and facility levels, how the hospital culture impacts HAI rates, and how state and local officials can address challenges and solutions.
