The Southwest Healthcare System in Wildomar, CA, could lose Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement in part because of improper infection control procedures, according to The Californian.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services released a 21-page report on Monday about a March survey of Rancho Springs Medical Center in Murrieta, CA. State officials said the hospital was not using approved practices for cleaning surgical units and gear, as well as improper procedures for quarantined areas, according to the article.
State officials will conduct another unannounced survey by July 15 to ensure the organization has fixed the problems. If not, Southwest Healthcare could lose reimbursement.
