Chicago and Boston hospitals face infection scares

Hundreds of patients were potentially exposed to TB at three Chicago hospitals when a Northwestern University doctor-in-training was diagnosed with the infection on Tuesday, April 7, according to news reports
In Boston, 18 mothers and 19 newborns have become sick with MRSA, soon after being released from Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. A state investigation revealed problems with the hospital’s infection control practices, reported the Boston Globe.
