State health investigation reveals IC deficiencies

More than a year ago, in February 2008, Las Vegas health officials advised roughly 50,000 city residents to get tested for exposure to hepatitis C, after inspectors found unsafe injection practices in two now-closed outpatient endoscopy centers.
A draft report released last week by state officials found 25 of 49 outpatient clinics in Nevada had similar infection control deficiencies. This week, on OSHA Healthcare Advisor, the featured IC post examines this follow-up report and the subsequent investigation measures.
