MRIs become a cleaning concern

Dr. Peter Rothshild, president of Patient Comfort Systems and renowned MRI expert released his paper “Preventing Infections in MRI: Best Practices” on the company’s Web site in July, 2008. Eight months later it seems to be making a splash with The Joint Commission.
Rothschild contends that MRI suites are a haven for MRSA since they are difficult to clean and thus don’t often receive proper attention. Now he says The Joint Commission is looking into these practices with more scrutiny.
