The smaller they get, the easier they are to carry around, and now iPods are making their way into hospital laboratories, leaving some employers wondering where to draw the line. Are these devices, which could be exposed to blood and body fluids, an infection control hazard? Should they be disinfected before leaving the lab?
Although you won’t find a regulation to answer this question, Terry Jo Gile, MT(ASCP), MA Ed., aka The Safety Lady, weighs in on the matter in this week’s featured blog post on OSHA Healthcare Advisor.
