HIMSS announces keynote speakers for 2008 Orlando conference

Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-Tenn) will be among the six keynote speakers at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Annual Conference & Exhibition February 24-28 in Orlando, FL.

HIMSS announced the lineup for the 2008 conference in an October 23 press release. Joining Frist, the first practicing physician elected to the U.S. Senate, will be: Michael O. Leavitt, who as HHS Secretary manages one of the largest civilian departments the federal government with 67,000 employees and a budget that accounts for nearly one of every four federal dollars Robert Koloder, MD who as National Coordinator for Health IT at HHS serves as Leavitt's principal advisor on all health IT initiatives Steve Case, the founder and CEO of Revolution Health who previously served as CEO of America Online, Inc., which he co-founded, and as Chairman of AOL Time Warner Dr. Eric Schmidt, Google CEO who previously led strategic planning, management, and technology development at Novell Steven D. Levitt, a professor of economics and director of the Becker Center on Chicago Price Theory at the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and author of The New York Times bestseller, Freakonomics Click here to read more about the keynote speakers.
