New Zagat guide will rate physicians
Quality Improvement Monitor, October 26, 2007
Wellpoint, one of the nation's largest health insurers, has partnered with Zagat Survey to let patients evaluate their physicians the same way diners rate restaurants, according to USA Today.
The ratings guide will assess trust, communication, availability and office environment, the paper reported. The guide, which will be available online to more than a million members by April, will rate doctors a numerical score based on a 30-point scale. It will also include comments from patients.
WellPoint ultimately plans to roll the guide out to all of its 35 million members but would not give a schedule, USA Today said.
