Security chief at Florida hospital fired

Healthcare Security Weekly, October 15, 2007

In a leadership shake up at Florida State Hospital, the facility's administrator fired the security chief and forced the resignation of the assistant supervisor for administration amid an internal review of conditions at the mental hospital, reported the Tallahassee Democrat.

The hospital's administrator Diane James told the newspaper that she requested a management review by the Department of Children and Families inspector general's office in July, after receiving several complaints from security staff about working conditions at the 1,042-bed facility.
