Walgreen to expand number of retail health clinics
Quality Improvement Monitor, October 4, 2007
A chain of drugstore-based health clinics owned by Walgreen Co. will triple the number of U.S. cities it serves by the end of the year, according to the Associated Press (AP).
Take Care Health Systems announced this week it plans to open up to 100 more clinics in nine new markets.
The clinics, generally staffed by nurse practitioners or physician assistants, offer same-day appointments and weekend and evening hours for routine ailments such as sore throats and ear infections, the AP reported.
