HIMSS recognizes excellence in EHR use

The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) announced this year's winners of the Davies Awards of Excellence for use of EHR software on September 14, according to the HIMSS Web site.
The award, given to hospital and ambulatory facilities and to public health initiatives, is named for the late Nicholas E. Davies, an EHR pioneering advocate.
This year's winners included Allina Hospitals & Clinics in Minneapolis, Valdez Family Clinic and solo practitioner Alicia Valdez, M.D. in San Antonio, Village Partners in Plano, TX, the Illinois-National Electronic Disease Surveillance System in Springfield, and the Institute for Family Health in New York City.
