Medicare providers should only reply on their contractors for NPI implementation schedules
Ambulatory Surgery Reimbursement Update, September 18, 2007
CMS learned August 6 that an unnamed trade publication recently published an inaccurate schedule of National Provider Identifier (NPI) implementation dates (by contractor).
Medicare providers should only rely on information from their Medicare contractors, and will be advised by their contractors as to the timeframe of their transition.
