PPV: Collect accurate data to prepare HIM for the EHR
EHR Connection, August 20, 2007
Those who are on their way to the end of the paper trail and those who have already reached it agree: The first step to a successful project is planning. If you recognize that HIM professionals need significant preparation, you'll be more likely to reach your goal.

Leslie Mack, RHIT, senior director of HIM for CareTech Solutions in Troy, MI, echoes the importance of a proper prep. No matter where you are on the path to selecting or implementing an EHR, Mack and Rose say data collection is often helpful.
