EHR Connection, August 20, 2007
There are several ways that physicians can make EHRs more efficient, according to a report that the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT issued August 9. The report, which RTI International prepared, listed 14 ways in which physicians could use EHRs resourcefully and effectively to reduce costs.
An expert panel developed these recommendations, and more than 75 healthcare industry leaders reviewed them. The report includes ways to:
- Enhance audit functions
- Verify provider identification
- Reduce risk of inaccurate payments
- Improve patient identification
