Newborn named after security guard
Healthcare Security Weekly, August 13, 2007
A newborn baby found abandoned in a hospital in Scotland has been named after the security guard who found him. The boy, left at the Wishaw General Hospital on August 7, has been named Andrew after security guard Andrew Watson, reported BBC News.
Watson discovered the baby, thought to be a day or two old, in a baby changing room. He told the BBC he had been making his final checks of the evening when he heard a baby crying. He found the infant wrapped in a white shawl, picked him up, and phoned another security guard before taking the baby to the maternity unit. "He's a wee beauty," said Watson, 25, who appealed to the baby's mother to come forward and be reunited with the child.
