Tip of the week: A good ICP has ability to work with other disciplines

Infection Control Monitor, August 3, 2007

An infection control professional's (ICP) job requires a number of different skills, from educating personnel to analyzing data.

One important trait for an ICP-and one you should look for if hiring a new ICP in your hospital-is the ability to work with other disciplines. While ICPs need to think independently, they also need to work collaboratively. ICPs need to work with a host of other departments and be able to share ideas and solutions to get the job done.

To learn more about the important qualifications for a potential ICP, go to go to www.hcpro.com/content/74811.cfm. The cost is $10. Briefings on Infection Control subscribers received this story with their subscriptions.
