Survey shows that IT/EHRs are most effective for improving efficiency, quality of care

EHR Connection, August 6, 2007

Sixty-six percent of respondents identified the adoption of IT and EHRs as the most efficient strategy for improving quality of care, a new Opinion Leaders survey published July 30 by the Commonwealth Fund and Modern Healthcare.

The survey asked a total of 214 respondents. Fifty-nine percent of the respondents chose public reporting of provider performance on quality measures, while 51% chose financial incentives for quality of care (e.g., pay for performance).
