FDA site replaces publication
Healthcare Strategist Trend Watch, July 6, 2007
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) will revamp its image with a new Web site for consumers, aimed at consolidating information. Although there will be more changes to the site in the coming months, the FDA has already made modifications to the newsroom section of the site.
As the Web site updates continue, the FDA will stop printing its consumer publication, opting for an e-newsletter instead. The agency is also considering a partnership with other health sites already recognized as sources of information for the public.
The updates to the site are the result of an extensive usability study, which gauged the ability of health experts and consumers to access important information on the government organization's former Web site.
