Hospital hopes to keep history
Healthcare Strategist Trend Watch, July 6, 2007
Middletown (OH) Regional Hospital is moving to a brand new, $195 million facility later this year, and hospital officials want to move its history, too.
Hospital officials have asked the public to donate any items that will help the public remember the history of the facility. Examples of memorabilia include graduation certificates from a now-dismantled nursing school, newsletters, photos, and medical equipment. Those who submit items by July 9 will be able to view them in an exhibit at the new Atrium Medical Center, which is under construction; later submissions could be included in the historical society's collection.
The hospital began as a 28-bed facility 90 years ago, and is moving to a 250-bed facility which is now under construction, the Middletown Journal reports. The Atrium Medical Center will begin opening tours and ceremonies in the fall, and operations will start there in December.
