Farmstand a success for WA Hospital

Island Hospital in Anacortes, WA, is offering its patients a farm stand that sells fresh, seasonal vegetables from local farms. The stand is open every Thursday afternoon, selling produce picked that same day.
The farmstand not only helps farmers, but also encourages employees and patients to eat more healthy foods, says the Anacortes American. Hospital kitchen staff are also using local produce to prepare meals for patients, the paper says.
