FASA provides Medicare rate calculator
Ambulatory Surgery Reimbursement Update, July 31, 2007
If you're wondering how to calculate your Medicare payment for local areas for procedures on Medicare's ASC list effective January 1, 2008, look no further.
FASA posted a calculator on its Web site which allows users to input numbers into a specific payment formula using the national payment rate and their local wage index.
The formula doesn't apply to procedures that have associated high costs for implants ("device-intensive procedures").
