EHR use among family docs continues to rise, survey finds
EHR Connection, July 23, 2007
Half of family physicians are either implementing or have already implemented EHRs into their practice, according to a survey by the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP). This is a significant increase from four years ago when the AAFP first started tracking EHR use among its members: In 2003, only 10%-15% of AAFP members had adopted EHRs, compared to 37% this year, reports Healthcare IT News. Of those respondents who are in the process of implementing or planning to purchase an EHR system, 99% said they'd like to use it for managing patient medications and to access patient health summaries.
