Web site helps health IT vendors comply with federal standards
EHR Connection, July 16, 2007
Federal HIT agencies have established the Health Information Technology Implementation Testing and Support online center for the Nationwide Health Information Network Initiative. The site helps vendors make sure that their products comply with federal standards. It says it "provides HIT implementers with access to the tools and resources needed to support and test their implementation of standards-based health systems."
The site also provides information about ongoing health IT initiatives, an overview of interoperability specifications and the standards that they reference, and access to test resources. There are also links to additional information about the Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology, the Healthcare Information Technology Standards Panel, the test's approach, and how stakeholders can contribute to the expansion of the site as a testing partner.
