Partnership helps patients set up personal health Web sites
EHR Connection, July 9, 2007
A new partnership will make it easier for patients to set up a CarePage, which is a personalized Web page that helps family and friends communicate with ill and recovering patients. CarePages.com is teaming with a call center services firm, The Beryl Companies, for the project. Beryl's call advisors will help people create a CarePage for themselves or a loved one. The CarePages are free and allow people to communicate with patients who are receiving medical treatment. Patients can chronicle their illness and share their experience with an online community. CarePages, which is a Revolution Health Group company, has more than two million members. In addition, more than 550 healthcare facilities across the United States and Canada offer customized versions of CarePages. Earlier this year, the Wall Street Journal said that personal patient Web sites, such as CarePages.com and Caringbridge.org are growing in popularity.
