PPV: Facility design and layout are critical to EHR success

The next time you walk down the hallway of your hospital, try to notice how easy (or difficult) it is for staff members to physically access your EHR. Ask yourself: Where is the HIM department located? Where are workstations? These considerations directly affect how well users will take to the new system and whether you get the buy-in you need to see a return on investment.
