CMS studying PHR use among Medicare beneficiaries
EHR Connection, June 25, 2007
Four health plans are working with CMS on an 18-month pilot study about using online health management tools. The study will promote the use of online personal health records (PHR) among Medicare beneficiaries.
Medicare will work on the pilot in conjunction with:
- HIP USA
- Humana
- Kaiser Permanente
- University of Pittsburgh Medical Center
At the conclusion of the pilot, Medicare will compile information regarding which features work best and how to encourage patients to continue using PHRs.
