Study: Wisconsin tops in providing quality care

Quality Improvement Monitor, June 15, 2007

Wisconsin received the highest score in the nation for its quality of healthcare, according to a new study by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ).

Minnesota, New Hampshire, Maine, and Rhode Island rounded out the top five in the rankings, which were based on 129 quality measurements.

The AHRQ said it made the state rankings public to prompt healthcare improvements.

The worst-performing states for quality healthcare are Louisiana and Mississippi, according to the study.
