Caretaker charged with rape of boy, 13, at hospital

Police charged a man hired to take care of a developmentally disabled 13-year-old boy with first-degree sexual assault for alleging raping the boy in a shower at
The 38-year-old man was arrested June 1. He was accompanying the boy who was being treated at the hospital for head trauma due to a motorcycle accident. The man asked to give the boy a shower and shortly thereafter, staff saw the boy crying while sitting in his wheelchair.
Hospital security found the man apparently cleaning up the shower. The boy told a nurse the man had touched him and a medical examination showed injuries consistent with sexual assault, the TV station reported.
