Tip of the week: Training contracted security officers
Healthcare Security Weekly, June 11, 2007
If your hospital outsources its security force, you might face difficulties developing a training program.
Contractors will provide only what the client asked for during the negotiation process. If you contracted for security guards without any training provisions, it may be hard to get the agency or guards to go along with a training program.
Renegotiate your contract to include a viable training program. If that option is not possible, include annual training requirements as part of the requirements for a new contract.
