NovaMed acquires second ASC in Michigan
Ambulatory Surgery Reimbursement Update, June 5, 2007
NovaMed, Inc. acquired a 62.5% interest in the Surgery Center of Kalamazoo in Portage, MI, according to a press release from NovaMed.
"This transaction is by far NovaMed's largest surgery center acquisition to date," said Thomas S. Hall, NovaMed chairman, president and chief executive officer, according to the release. "In the last 12 months over 8,000 surgical procedures were performed at this surgery center generating over $9 million in net revenue."
The Surgery Center of Kalamazoo is NovaMed's second acquisition in Michigan, and physicians at this multi-specialty facility perform pain and plastics, orthopedic, and ophthalmology procedures, among others.
