AMA launches new online tool to help physicians improve the quality of care
Physician Practice Advisor, May 30, 2007
The American Medical Association (AMA) has launched AMA Therapeutic Insights, an online self-assessment tool that uses physician-level prescribing patterns and evidence-based guidelines to help enhance clinical practices and improve patient care.
Physicians can use the tool to access state and national comparisons showing which drugs are prescribed by their peers for specific medical conditions, as well as evidence-based guidelines for drug therapy, according to an AMA press release.
The AMA hopes this tool will help improve healthcare quality by allowing physicians to align their prescribing behavior with emerging advances in scientific knowledge.
