Tip: Kick off training with a pep rally
EHR Connection, May 28, 2007
Before the training begins, hold a meeting to assemble everyone who will oversee the training. The purpose of this meeting is to make sure that everyone agrees on the budget and scope of the training, says Margo Beecher, IT training center manager for the University of Utah Hospital and Clinics in Salt Lake City.
It is essential to get management involved at this stage. It's also imperative to keep the mood upbeat and remind everyone that this is an exciting time for the organization.
Having upper management buy into the training is crucial, says Beecher. "They can ensure people will attend and communicate to their staff the value in training." Attitude, which is a huge factor in success, starts at the top.
