TEPR awards announced

The Medical Records Institute, Inc., a Boston-based company that held its Towards the Electronic Patient Record (TEPR) conference last week in Dallas, announced winners of the 2007 TEPR Awards.
A panel of 15 consultants, vendors, physicians, and others honored the following with first-place status for excellence in healthcare software:
- Document Imaging: Medical Communication Systems Inc., Woburn, MA
- Mobile Applications: PatientKeeper Inc., Newton, MA
- Stand-alone e-Prescribing Systems: Purkinje Inc., St. Louis
- Personal Health Records: CapMed, Newtown, PA
- Hot Products: Phytel Inc., Dallas
- Continuity of Care Award for Vendors: (tie) e-MDs Inc., Austin, TX, and Medical Communications Systems Inc.
- Continuity of Care Award for Implementers: New Orleans Health Department
The Medical Records Institute discontinued its awards for electronic records systems, replacing it with an "EMR Compare" usability demonstration at its conference.
