New pandemic flu guidance released by OSHA

In an effort to prepare the healthcare industry for a possible influenza pandemic, OSHA officials on May 21 released new guidelines designed for healthcare workers.
Pandemic Influenza Preparedness and Response Guidance for Healthcare Workers and Healthcare Employers provides healthcare workers with information and tools to prepare for pandemic-related issues such as surge, vaccination programs, and infection control measures.
The 99-page guidance also highlights OSHA standards that will play a significant role in pandemic planning.
