PPV:Understanding needs, preparing for change essential to overcoming EHR implementation obstacles

With the many benefits of transitioning to an EHR come obstacles. And the solution to many of those obstacles isn't technology. It's understanding what your organization is looking for in an EHR and educating those involved about how their day-to-day responsibilities will change.
One of the biggest challenges for potential buyers is getting resource information that isn't tainted with marketing, says Claudia Tessier, CAE, RHIA, vice president of the Medical Records Institute in Boston. There's a general perception that there's resistance, especially among physicians, but it's more that people lack information, she says.
