CDC provides training on bird flu preparedness

Infection Control Monitor, May 18, 2007

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has developed an online training course to help state and local public health responders identify and respond to human infections and illness associated with avian influenza (H5N1).

Health officials can find free materials including presentations, case studies, and tabletop exercises they can adapt to meet their own training and preparedness needs. The CDC and the Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists worked with educators at the North Carolina Center for Public Health Preparedness to develop the training tools. Go to www.cste.org/influenza/avian.asp to find the training course.
