Retaining employees harder in 2007
Healthcare Strategist Trend Watch, April 27, 2007
Thirty-four percent of healthcare employers say it is harder to retain employees in 2007 than it was last year, according to a survey released April 19 by CareerBuilder.com.
The survey also shows that more than 75% of healthcare employers plan to hire new employees before the end of this year. CareerBuilder says that strong job growth in the healthcare industry may be driving workers to look for better opportunities and making the recruitment, hiring, and retention process more competitive for employers.
To entice qualified workers, many organizations are increasing workplace flexibility (49%), salaries (38%), bonuses (28%), and benefits (18%), according to CareerBuilder.
