New application allows on-the-go updates for medical, Rx info
EHR Connection, May 7, 2007
PEPID, a decision-support company based in Chicago, has added another level of mobility to its medical information offerings, a feature called "over-the-air" (OTA) downloading, which allows physicians and nurses to update medical content to their BlackBerry smart phones without syncing with a desktop computer.
With the new downloads, users can add new products, update existing drug and medical information, and register new PEPID products. The company also provides medical and drug content to hospitals and healthcare systems. The OTA downloading is available with BlackBerry smart phones with MicroSD cards. PEPID's content partners include The American Academy of Emergency Medicine, The National Association of Emergency Medical Services Educators, the American Society of Health System Pharmacists, and other groups.
