Insurance groups fight for Medicare business

Groups such as Humana, Inc., and UnitedHealth Group, Inc., are fighting to hold onto their Medicare business, especially Medicare Advantage plans, as Congress looks to overhaul the health plan.

Some members of Congress hope to expand the State Children's Health Insurance Program, which will cost roughly $50 billion over five years, and promise to cover the cost with taxes or spending cuts elsewhere. Those cuts are of main concern to the insurance companies, as the cuts are likely to be made from the payments they receive from Medicare programs.
