Training your staff to use a new EHR system can be one of the most difficult parts of making the move to an electronic culture. "Many people think that you buy software, get a few hours of training, and viola!" says Rod Piechowski, vice president of technology leadership for the National Alliance for Health Information Technology. It's not that simple. Most experts agree that the biggest challenge of implementation is managing the people and getting buy-in, not choosing the perfect software.
