CMS launches e-learning tool to aid in technology adoption
Physician Practice Advisor, April 18, 2007
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has launched the Doctor's Office Quality Information Technology University (DOQ-IT U), a Web-based tool designed to support health information technology in physicians' offices, according to a CMS press release.
The free tool will provide solo and small-to-medium sized physician practices with lessons on culture change, vendor selection, operational redesign, and clinical processes to help aid in the adoption of HIT.
The first learning sessions focus on physician office workflow redesign, culture change, and communication necessary for successful electronic health record implementation. Future features will include surveys, utilization tracking, and continuing medical education opportunities.
