Vendor news: New CEO for Misys’ Healthcare turns focus back on physicians
EHR Connection, April 2, 2007
News that vendor Misys is returning to its strategy of increasing its business with physician offices is making headlines. New CEO Roger L. "Vern" Davenport will drive the business away from competing aggressively for hospital customers and back to a focus on smaller practice physicians, where the vendor holds a 20% share of the market. The new strategy will focus on practices with nine or fewer physicians, a market that is just starting to buy EMR software; implementing improvements of Misys software, including new features and easier-to-use interfaces; and improving customer service.
