Insurance options are limited for the self-employed

The professional associations that once provided millions of self-employed people with insurance are now canceling those benefits due to increasing medical costs, according to an article in the Los Angeles Times.

According to a survey done by the American Society of Association Executives, fewer than a quarter of the 1,020 professional and small-business associations surveyed offer medical coverage, even though a majority of the groups said they would like to.
