MHS should be budget-neutral, DMAA says

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) should evaluate current Medicare Health Support (MHS) pilots based on whether they break even financially while showing improved care and participant satisfaction, the Disease Management Association of America (DMAA) argues in a new white paper. In addition, if it expands the MHS program beyond the pilots, CMS should use its authority to adjust financial performance targets and risk assumption levels in order to meet the evolving program environment, DMAA says.
