Cuts to Medicare Advantage program pose threat to health plans

Congress is considering cutting payments to private companies that run Medicare plans, especially Medicare Advantage, a privately run program for seniors.

Many major insurers participate in Medicare Advantage, but none more so than Humana, Inc., which makes nearly half its earning through this program, according to the Prudential Equity Group and an article from SignOnSanDiego.com.
