Voice-enabled technology allows instant access to medical records
EHR Connection, March 19, 2007
Sprint and Nuance Communications are developing a speech-enabled healthcare voice technology that gives healthcare professionals wireless voice access to data, such as medical records. The technology, which the group claims is an industry first, allows physicians to access current patient information such as medication, lab results, and patient status directly on their Sprint handheld devices, both inside and outside the hospital. A physician can dictate his or her requirements directly to the phone and obtain current information. The purpose of this ability to access information at all times is to improve patient management.
