Security heightened after maternity ward intruder
Healthcare Security Weekly, March 12, 2007
The Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC, has stepped up security and warned other local hospitals after a man entered the facility March 4 and inappropriately touched two female patients, reported television station WSOC-9.
Authorities were searching for a man who entered the maternity ward and touched two women. One woman said the man rubbed her back and both said something seemed wrong, according to a hospital spokesman. Security personnel reviewed surveillance cameras at the hospital that showed the man was in the hospital for about 30 minutes. The hospital has added staff and increased patrols.
