Vendors coordinate DM with absence management

Several disease management (DM) vendors are beginning to offer products that coordinate absence management with DM, in what could be a first step toward integration of DM with a variety of disability management programs. These new products are driven in large part by employers' desire to understand the links between chronic disease, absenteeism, "presenteeism," and productivity, as well as to improve in all areas simultaneously, DM experts say.
