MHS may lose more participants in 2007

One or more vendors may follow the lead of LifeMasters Supported Self-Care, Inc., and quit the Medicare Health Support (MHS) program due to concerns about saving enough money to earn their fees, disease management (DM) industry sources say. Although most companies agree that the Medicare fee-for-service market is critical for DM, several vendors participating in the eight MHS pilots are frustrated with the lack of quick access to crucial data. And some say the beneficiaries in their intervention groups require more services than they expected.
